As predicted by us, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘OK Jaanu’ is off to an average opening at the domestic Box Office. Directed by Shaad Ali, the movie reported an occupancy of around 35% on its opening day. As per early estimates, the first-day collection of ‘OK Jaanu’ will be around 5.5 Crore.
As expected the movie opened to better occupancy in high-end metros and multiplexes. Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Pune and Bangalore were the best-performing circuits. ‘OK Jaanu’ had a terrible start in the mass centres as the occupancy was even less than 15% in single screens dominated circuits like UP and Central India. Dangal remained the first choice for the moviegoers in north Indian circuits like Punjab and Delhi.
OK Jaanu Budget
‘OK Jaanu’ is made on a budget of around 28 Crore. With 12 Crore spent on promotions, the total budget of the movie is 40 Crore. Despite its low budget, the movie needs to perform well to be a safe bet for the producers and distributors.
OK Jaanu First Day Collection: Early Estimates
As per early estimates, the first day collection of the movie will be in the range of 5 to 6 Crore. ‘Ok Jaanu’ has received poor reviews from critics. The WOM from the audience ios also mixed. The movie will struggle at the Box Office in coming days as it has to compete with Dangal, xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage and Kaidi No. 150.
Directed by Shaad Ali, ‘Ok Jaanu’ is an official remake of Mani Ratnam‘s Tamil film OK Kanmani that featured Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. The original movie was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year 2015.
